2012 Mission Team Opportunities

Florestal & Rio de Janeiro, Brazil – Team Leaders: Naseem Helms & John Curran – July 12-20; 8-12 people – Relationship Evangelism, Prayer, & Testifying to God’s goodness. Leticia, Colombia – Team Leaders: Steve O’Brien (Medical), Aaron Van Gilder (Building) & Kellie Dixon (Children’s Ministry) June 9-17; 15-20 people – This team will minister to the poor in the community (especially the orphanage children). Team members will help build the new orphanage, provide medical care or VBS for the children.  Cost is approx $1800 per person.  Contact Kellie at kellie.dixon@gmail.com, Aaron at aarontvg@gmail.com or Steve at sobrien11@live.com.

Navajo Indian Reservation in New Mexico – Team Leaders: Beth Keasler & Jill Satterfield – June 8-17. 20 people – This team works with the local Methodist pastor to identify residents in desperate need of repairs to their homes such as roofing, plumbing, wheelchair ramps, or electrical. Many of the homes do not have electricity or indoor plumbing. Skilled workers are needed, but helpful servants are welcome. Cost is $1000 per person. New Orleans – Team Leaders: Dan Hauser & (another team leader is needed) April 7-14; 20-30 people. This team will serve alongside the missionary family we support there, Paul & Barb Malinich and their boys. This is a team for families to go on and serve together in mission outreach to people in need. There are many opportunities such as serving meals, giving away boxes of food or clothes, leading VBS, doing a prayer walk, etc. Final plans will be made when the team is formed. West Virginia – Wallie Kincaid & (another team leader is needed) a week in June

This is a team is in the planning phase. For the past few years this has been a student ministry trip, but we would also like to open this up for families to go on and serve together in mission outreach to people in need. There are many opportunities such as home repairs, serving meals, giving away boxes of food or clothes, leading VBS, etc. Final plans will be made when the team is formed. Juana Diaz, Puerto Rico – John & Kerry Cox, missionaries we support in Puerto Rico, would like to have a team come again this year.  Ministry opportunities include doing home repairs in the poor neighborhood where the Cox family lives and ministering to the area children by leading VBS.
