Their mission is to Advance the Kingdom of God in Kenya and East Africa. Comprehensive surveys have concluded that 19 completely unreached people groups remain in Kenya today. They are asking God to give them the privilege to effectively present Jesus among one of these tribes until a thriving and expanding church can remain. Muslim’s form the largest and most caustic group opposing Christianity in Kenya. Randy and Becky have asked God for more creative inroads among the vast Muslim population. They have asked God to send them to the hardest places…this means spiritually as well as geographically.

Randy and Becky Coates have two incredible children: Nichole and Joel and two beautiful golden retrievers Malindi and Kiara. All four of them are home-schooled and consistently excel academically. Joel and Nichole are actively involved in all aspects of CMI ministry. The dogs mostly sit around. Becky has been caring for the family and home-schooling Nichole and Joel. Prior to that she served as a certified teacher in three different states and is certified to teach English as a second language. CMI was founded in 1996 to facilitate the ministries of Randy, Becky, Nichole and Joel Coates among the people of East Africa. In 1997 they left careers in accounting and teaching in Atlanta, Georgia to move to Kenya and immediately took up the task of church planting. Together with their African brothers and sisters, they have planted 18 churches throughout the country.
